Opening weekend of the Del Mar Fair.
The US Open at Torrey Pines.
The Padres playing at home at Petco Park.
But the weekend will be completed by the San Diego CDS Chapter June Dressage show at Showpark in Del Mar!
The bad news: Showpark is smack dab in the middle of this “Bermuda Triangle” of traffic.
The good news: We’ll be getting there early enough to avoid the worst of it, at least on the way in! And we can watch all those cars going by far, far in the distance as we enjoy Showpark’s ambiance and beautiful backgrounds.
The show promises to be good — three rings are running flat out from 8:00 am until 6:00, with a full complement of rides, from Training Level to Grand Prix. There’s a welcome party on Friday evening, sponsored by Hooters, and a wine and cheese party on Saturday night, courtesy of Krug Winery.
If you’re competing, look for my dark blue tent beside the secretary’s office. Stop in and sign up for photos, enjoy the big display prints and peruse my portfolios of paintings and photos. If you’d like, you can download a sign up form here — just remember to bring it with you to the show! Showpark is a great place for photos, so take advantage of the scenery.
You can get show information, including a preliminary list of ride times, on the San Diego Chapter website.
Tinto and I will see you there!
Tinto at the end of Dressage Affaire this spring. Bet you didn’t know you could tire out a terrier!
